The library of Satyadeo College Gouripur stands as the intellectual heart of our institution — a quiet sanctuary where curiosity meets knowledge, and students are empowered to explore, discover, and excel.
Established alongside the college in 1982, our library has grown into a comprehensive repository of books, journals, reference materials, and resources across all disciplines — Arts, Science, and Commerce. Managed by qualified library staff, it remains open to all enrolled students and faculty throughout the academic year.
Extended Hours
Open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a dedicated reading room for students.
Catalogue & Search
Organised catalogue system for quick and easy location of books and references.
Student & Faculty Access
All registered students and staff can borrow books using their college ID card.
What We Offer
Library Services & Facilities
From quiet reading zones to lending services, our library is designed to support every aspect of academic life at Satyadeo College Gouripur.
Book Lending
Students can borrow books for up to 14 days with a valid college ID. Renewals are permitted subject to availability and a fine system ensures timely return of borrowed material.
Reading Room
A dedicated, well-ventilated reading room provides a quiet and comfortable space for self-study and focused academic work throughout library working hours.
Journals & Periodicals
Access to national newspapers, magazines, academic journals, and periodicals covering all major subjects and current affairs for holistic student development.
Reference Section
Encyclopaedias, dictionaries, exam guides, competitive entrance materials, and university syllabus-aligned textbooks are available for in-library reference use.
Question Paper Archive
Previous years' university examination papers are archived and available for student reference — valuable for exam preparation and understanding paper patterns.
Library Assistance
Qualified library staff are available to assist students in locating books, understanding the catalogue, and guiding research enquiries throughout all working hours.

Library Policy
Rules & Regulations
To maintain a peaceful and productive environment for all library users, the following rules must be observed at all times.

Silence must be maintained in the reading room and all library areas at all times.

College ID card is mandatory for entry and for borrowing any book or material.

Books must be returned within the prescribed borrowing period. Late returns incur a nominal fine.

Food and beverages are strictly prohibited inside the library premises.

Mobile phones must be on silent mode. Phone calls are not permitted inside.

Damage or loss of library material will result in replacement charges plus a penalty.

Personal belongings such as bags must be deposited at the entrance counter.
Library Timings
Borrowing Policy
- Students may borrow up to 2 books at a time.
- Borrowing period: 14 days per book.
- Renewal allowed once, subject to availability.
- Reference books & journals are not issued for home use.
- Faculty may borrow up to 5 books for 30 days.
- Loss or damage must be compensated in full.
